Six Orange County families welcomed home in Stanton

On Saturday, June 11, 2022 in the City of Stanton, we hosted a Dedication Day to celebrate our six new Habitat families who were ceremonially given the keys and mortgage for their new homes.

These six homes represent a new chapter for these hardworking families. The Dedication Day showcased the generosity of all the donors, volunteers, and team members who built these incredible homes with six deserving families.

We wouldn’t otherwise be able to purchase a home in Orange County for our family. Now our kids will have space to run and play with the other kids in the community. This Habitat home gives us the opportunity to have safe place for our kids to grow. — the Towobola Family

During the event, we heard from Monique Davis, President and CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Orange County; Aram Chahbazian, Board of Director for Habitat for Humanity of Orange County; Janine Algabre, a Habitat OC homeowner; and Raju Varma, Executive Vice President & CFO of Automobile Club of Southern California.

After the ceremony, the families opened their doors and gave tours of the new homes. And, when they opened their garage doors for the first time, they found an extra surprise from the Automobile Club of Southern California, who donated a car to each family.

It was an extraordinary day to be part of. The completion of our Stanton housing project brings the total affordable homes brought to Orange County by Habitat for Humanity to 237.

We were excited to share this celebratory day with David J. Shawver, Mayor of Stanton & Buena Park, Council Members Gary Taylor, Council Member Hong Alyce Van, and Council Member Carol Warren.
