Position Title: Accounts Payable Clerk

This position is full-time, classified as nonexempt and reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

Position Overview: Join the Habitat for Humanity of Orange County team bringing people together to build homes, community and hope.This position is responsible for performing a range of accounting and clerical tasks related to the accounts payable function. This generally includes receiving, processing, and verifying invoices, tracking and recording purchase orders, and processing payments.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Process invoices for approval
  • Verify detailed receipts for expense reports and credit card reconciliations
  • Reconcile daily receipts
  • Pay vendors by monitoring discount opportunities and payment due dates and resolving discrepancies
  • Process weekly accounts payable check runs
  • Make bank deposits
  • Data enter information into donor database
  • Reconcile bank accounts
  • Maintain historical records by filing and scanning documents
  • Research account histories
  • Assist during annual audit season
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. AA degree preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience in accounts payable or accounting position
  • Good computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Accounting software experience preferred
  • Ability to learn computer programs quickly
  • 10-key by touch; typing 30 words per minute
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service with diplomatic communication skills
  • Results-oriented with excellent attention to details and accuracy
  • High energy with a positive attitude

Job Details: This is a full-time position Monday –Friday, 8:00 am -5:00 pm. Position requires minimal local travel in the normal course of performing job duties.
