Join with us and other Habitat affiliates across California to urge Governor Newsom to #FullyFundCalHome in the state budget. You can help by taking one minute to write the Governor and your state lawmakers to support this request. Sign the letter!
Right now, Governor Newsom and State Legislators are negotiating key budget decisions that will lay the course for California’s future.
The one and only state program available and widely used by Habitat for Humanity throughout California is CalHome. If CalHome is not included in the budget, funding for affordable ownership home construction runs out this year. CalHome is a critical resource for Habitat’s work. Its future is being decided by June 15.
Now is the time to act. With the budget surplus of 97.5 billion and homeownership rates falling across the state – and rates among Latino and Black families dropping disproportionately lower – this is the year to tackle the problem.
We need you. Will you take one minute to tell Governor Newsom and your State Representative that you support fully funding CalHome?
One click tells our leaders that you believe more Californians should have access to homeownership and all the social, health, financial, educational, and generational benefits it offers. One click stands for equity, justice, and opportunity.
This truly takes just a minute, and it could make a huge difference in gaining the financial support we need to continue serving our mission.
