Global Village

The world is waiting for you! Join the Habitat OC's Global Village team today and start making a world of difference tomorrow.

Habitat for Humanity's Global Village volunteer trips are a great opportunity to travel with a purpose.

Through these weeklong trips, you can experience the culture and language of a community as you work alongside a diverse group of homeowners and volunteers. You can learn about the immense need and development challenges that surround the creation of affordable housing around the world and, best of all, you can help create positive change - maybe in your own life.

Hear from Rev. Jeff Meyers about a Global Village experience in Nicaragua that caused him to think in a new way about his volunteer work. He has been, he say, forever changed.

Make global friends

As a Global Village volunteer, you will work alongside members of the host community in building decent, affordable homes. Your active partnership will help raise awareness of the burden of poverty housing and create a true global village of love, community, homes and hope.

No experience necessary

Habitat’s Global Village volunteer program welcomes all who want to make a difference by picking up a hammer and helping to change lives. There is no maximum age limit. Many of the trips require strenuous manual labor, so all participants should be in good health.

What you will do on your trip

As a Global Village volunteer, you may work on house construction or renovations. Trip itineraries are balanced with plenty of work, rest and free time. This is a nine day trip with five days of construction and two days devoted to orientation and cultural experiences.

Every Global Village trip is different, but you can expect to gain a unique set of experiences and memories. Volunteers form once-in-a-lifetime friendships as they travel, live, work and eat together.
