The Phan/Luu family

Thang Phan believes his family's new Habitat home is a dream come true that will open the doors of opportunity for the family's future. The family of four, which includes wife Yen Luu and sons Tuan, 21, and Tu, 20, has been living in their small, cramped two-bedroom apartment in Anaheim for over 11 years. Though small, their home is immaculate and they perform all of the necessary maintenance themselves.

Both Tuan and Tu are currently attending local universities. Dedicated and conscientious students, Tuan and Tu plan to live at home following graduation. Because of the steep increase in tuition, income from the young men's part-time jobs must go toward tuition and related expenses, rather than towards assisting their family.

The Phan-Luu family is a very close, loving family that is committed to each other's success. They also share a devotion to the surrounding community and their church. The family has already created a plan for completing their sweat equity hours and saved enough money for the down payment and escrow closing costs.
