The Luis/Apolinar family
Jose Luis and Sara Apolinar currently live in a very substandard two-bedroom apartrment in the City of Anaheim with their four children Luis, 12; Isabel, 10; Anthony, 9; and Marisol, 6. Currently, all four children share one bedroom, Jose and Sara have the other.
It is evident that the Apolinars’s property management has abandoned their responsibility. While the rent increases, there is no heat, the home has a moldy bathroom, and a kitchen that barely functions and appears to be hazardous. The neighborhood is unsafe—gangs and crime are endemic to the area. Despite these conditions, the Apolinar family pays an excessive amount for rent each month, making it very difficult for them to continue to pay for health care and food. Nevertheless, it is obvious from the sight of heavy backpacks by the front door and the tidy appearance of the apartment that the Apolinars are a very hardworking family. Jose Luis and Sara have done their best to communicate their values to their well-mannered children. Their commitment to a better life is most evident and they are clearly ready for this opportunity which will change all of their lives.
The Apolinar family is very eager to purchase their three-bedroom home in Anaheim and have no qualms about the sacrifices involved. They have already saved the necessary funds for the down payment and closing costs and planned out how they will fulfill their sweat equity responsibilities. Welcome Apolinar family!
